ATP Synthase
This enzyme is found embedded in the membranes of virtually
all types of living cells. It contains 24-30 protein subunits,
depending upon the organism. Bacterial sources usually contain
24 proteins, such as from E. coli, as studied in this lab.
These protein subunits are organized into 2 sub-complexes, traditionally
called F1 and Fo.
